Biography


David H. Vesole, MD, PhD

David H. Vesole completed a medical degree at Northwestern University and a doctorate in immunology and microbiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. His postdoctoral training included a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Before joining Hackensack University Medical Center as Co-Director, Myeloma Division, Director, Myeloma research, Dr. Vesole was the Director, BMT Program Loyola University having worked previously as an attending physician at St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York and Professor of Medicine and Clinical Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Board certified in medical oncology and hematology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Vesole is active in several professional organizations, including the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He served previously as Co-chair of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Myeloma Committee and the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research Plasma Cell Disorder Committee. He is a member of the International Myeloma Foundation Scientific Advisory Board. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Dr. Vesole has authored more than 140 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and books. He also serves as a reviewer for several journals, including the American Journal of Hematology, Blood, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Leukemia and Lymphoma. Dr. Vesole has presented his research at medical meetings and symposia nationally and internationally.
