Sandra E. Kurtin, RN, MS, AOCN®, ANP-C graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with high distinction, followed by a Master of Science in Oncology Nursing and post-graduate certification in both Geriatric and Adult Practice. She is currently employed as a hematology/oncology Nurse Practitioner at the University of Arizona Cancer Center and serves as an Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Arizona. Ms. Kurtin has 28 years of oncology nursing experience.
Ms. Kurtin is a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Oncology Nursing Society, and Nightingale Honors Society. She was awarded the Arizona March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award for Mentoring in 2010. Ms. Kurtin has presented numerous regional, national, and international lectures on oncology, chemotherapy administration, symptom management and clinical research. She is an Associate Editor for The Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology, and is an editorial board member for The Oncology Nurse, Oncology: Nurse Edition, and the ASCO People Living with Cancer website. She is a member of the Board of Directors and co-chair of the Nursing Leadership Board for the MDS Foundation and is a delegate of the International Myeloma Foundation Nurse Leadership Board. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer Nursing, Clinical Leukemia, Blood, Leukemia Research, The Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing, and The Journal of The Advanced Practitioner in Oncology. |
