Dr. Kwo is currently Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of Liver Transplantation, Gastroenterology/Hepatology Division, at the Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Kwo completed his residency at the University of Maryland and a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He then joined the IU faculty in 1995. Since that time, he has distinguished himself in the field of chronic Hepatitis C and has a large practice devoted to current and novel therapies for the
treatment of Hepatitis C. He has won multiple awards, both at the university, local, and national level.
Dr Kwo’s research interests include novel therapies for HCV infection, post-transplant HCV infection, as well as the use of extended donors post liver transplantation. A national presenter, Dr. Kwo has authored or coauthored more than 50 journal articles and 80 abstracts. His work has been published in clinical journals such as, Liver Transplantation, The American Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is a reviewer for Gastroenterology, The American Journal of Gastroenterology, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, Hepatology, American Journal of Transplantation, and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Kwo is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenterological Association, Indiana State Medical Association, United Network of Organ Sharing, and the International Liver Transplant Society. |
