Alan Glaseroff, MD
Biography |
Alan Glaseroff, MD, a family physician in Eureka, California, has been a member of each of CAFP’s quality improvement expert panels. Dr. Glaseroff served as a consultant on a number of collaboratives, including those run by Lumetra, the former Medicare quality improvement organization in California, and the Pacific Business Group on Health, which sponsored collaboratives on heart disease and diabetes as well as patient experience. Dr. Glaseroff is President of the Humboldt-Del Norte Foundation for Medical Care and Chief Medical Officer of the Humboldt-Del Norte IPA. Currently, patients in his community receive recommended services 15 percent more reliably than PPO-insured, non-IPA patients in the same practices, although a gap still exists between local performance and national benchmarks. He has developed a “Primary Care Renewal” project modeled on successful collaboratives outside California to work to transform primary care practices into “continuous improvement” organizations while meeting the definition of ” “patient-centered medical homes”. ” Dr. Glaseroff received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1978 and completed his internship and residency in family medicine at the University of California, San Francisco in 1982. He was selected as CAFP’s 2009 Family Physician of the Year. |
